Is therapy really the answer?

I have been through some recent relationship trauma and a couple therapy sessions in the past. What kind of therapist should I be looking for? I’d be interested in learning more about meditation and how to handle my anger better.

Therapy can be the answer to helping people cope with all sorts of issues in their daily life. It is important to keep in mind that therapy is a partnerships between two people. A therapist can supply you with all sorts of tools to help you regain control over your life, develop a clearer head space, and increase your ability to cope and process through your trauma but it is up to you as a partner in therapy to use the tools in your daily life for therapy to work successfully.

Trauma focused Cognitive behavioral therapy is used for people who have experienced trauma and has a high percentage of helping individuals. Therapy can assist you to develop skills to manage your anger such as meditation, guided imagery, deep breathing, cognitive behavioral techniques, along with other coping strategies.

Therapy also gives use a neutral non-judgmental participant to talk to which can be helpful in itself when we struggle to have people that are going to be there for use through difficult situations. The goal of therapy is to promote an overall sense of wellness. Therapists should provide you with a compassionate place to express your views and help to guide you to develop healthy solutions to your situation. Besides the issues you mentioned Therapy is a place that can also assist people to manage and decrease depression, anxiety, negative thought processes, unhealthy decision making, develop assertive communication, healthy boundaries, build healthy relationships with others and improve overall functioning in your daily life. 

Everyone has problems in their daily life and many people don't want to burden others with their problems, they don't feel like people will understand, or that they care enough to help at times. Therapy is a place when anyone can come and know that what they have going on in their life matters and give a person a place to talk freely about whatever the need is.
