Why am I always so angry?
Hello and thank you so much for reaching out!
Many people ask about affects modulation and emotional regulation skills. This part of the platform is specifically meant to answer a particular question without ever being a substitute for individual therapy. That being said, I really encourage you to seek out your own weekly sessions. This can support you more so in considering anger management and coping skills. There are so many wonderful professionals with a great variety of experience and myriad of availability on the platform. Many of them have experience helping clients with issues related to how they cope with anger.
In terms of the anger outburst, working with a therapist one on one would give you the opportunity to examine what some of your triggers are. It may feel so automatic in the moment that it may be hard to name your specific triggers. However, when you talk about this when you are in a neutral or positive place, it may be easier to pinpoint some specific triggers which you experience.
I would really encourage you to start keeping a journal. You could write about what you experienced during the day in terms of your emotions as well as your activities. This may give you the opportunity to begin to make connection in terms of patterns. I also want to say that everyone experiences anger. This is for a reason. Often it is more the way that we display our anger that a person wants to address than why we are angry. As well, sometimes there are untrue or negative messages that are based on past experiences in terms of anger in the present. Again, I really encourage individual therapy.
I wish you all the best on your journey. You certainly deserve it.
